Designed and built by Open City Architects, this remarkable residence has been thoughtfully crafted to provide a comfortable retreat from the elements, particularly the notorious Cape winds, while offering breathtaking views of the lagoon. A key element in achieving this harmonious balance is the application of Reynaers Aluminium Windows, Doors, and Facades. The Lagoon House is a true masterpiece in blending contemporary design with the natural beauty of its surroundings. Situated at the water's edge, it had to contend with the unique challenges posed by the coastal environment. Open City Architects, known for their innovative approach to design, recognized that the right choice of materials would be critical in creating a sanctuary that would shield its occupants from the relentless winds while maximizing the captivating views. ### Used systems [Windows](/products/windows) - ConceptSystem 68 - [ConceptSystem 77](/products/windows/conceptsystem-77) [Sliding & Folding](/products/sliding-folding) - [ConceptPatio 130](/products/sliding-folding/conceptpatio-130) ### Involved stakeholders Architect - [Open City Architects](https://www.opencity.co.za/) Photographer - Jeremy Woodward Share this case study - [f](https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https%3A//www.reynaers.co.za/markdownify/node/9255%3Futm_source%3Dfacebook%26utm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_campaign%3Dwebsite) - [t](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=https%3A//www.reynaers.co.za/markdownify/node/9255%3Futm_source%3Dtwitter%26utm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_campaign%3Dwebsite) - [l](https://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=1&url=https%3A//www.reynaers.co.za/markdownify/node/9255%3Futm_source%3Dlinkedin%26utm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_campaign%3Dwebsite) - [p](https://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/) - [m]() ## You might also like [ See all projects ](/projects) - ![ConceptPatio 130 Sliding & Folding and ConceptSystem 77 Windows - House Bedhesi located in Johannesburg, South-Africa](/sites/default/files/public/styles/teaser_medium/public/inriver/115119_House_Bedhesi_11.jpg?h=aabfdb47&itok=sPEBH6t-) ### House Bedhesi *Johannesburg - South-Africa* [Learn more](/inspiration/aluminium-project-references/sliding-folding-windows-house-bedhesi-johannesburg) - ![ConceptSystem 68 Windows and ConceptPatio 130 Sliding & Folding - House Hermanus located inSouth-Africa](/sites/default/files/public/styles/teaser_medium/public/inriver/63151_House%20Hermanus_001_HR.jpg?h=56d0ca2e&itok=eBK6_Ol0) ### House Hermanus *South-Africa* [Learn more](/inspiration/aluminium-project-references/windows-sliding-folding-house-hermanus) [ See all projects ](/projects)
